Who:
We are the
Dropout Free Zone Campaign that includes 5 very committed and caring group
mates. Lizbeth Mora is our team captain and she is what keeps us together with
her positive thinking, Nuvia Gonzalez who is serious but wants the best for her
team, Carlos Rangel the guy who gives us a lot of great ideas, Hugo Rojas the
silent one that does great work and last but not least Guillermo Avila the one
who speaks up to what he feels is right. We have different attitudes but we all
have one thing in common, which is, wanting the best for everyone. Our team
struggles sometimes for what we want but eventually succeed because we work
together as a team and we don’t give up easily. Due to us caring very much
about the future of every person we are willing to help them make the right
decisions from the start for example not dropping out from school and
graduating.
What:
We want to get a lower percentage
of dropouts in California or at least in Los Angeles school district. We are a group
of students supporting others like us that don’t want to dropout and graduate.
We don’t think anyone should stay behind and not graduate we believe every
single student should be able to graduate. We will help you persuade you and
advice you to make a better decision for your life and prepare for a better
future by graduating and not falling into the dropout rate. We do care about
your future because you are just like us and we understand the obstacles that
stand in front of you but we also believe in every student and we believe you
can do it!
Where:
This campaign is brought to you by
CNMT ROOSEVELT HIGH SCHOOL which is located in Fourth Street and Mathew in
Boyle heights, Los Angeles, CA. Roosevelt high school is a very united school
with a humble community that temp to help each other in community projects.
Roosevelt H.S is divided into seven small schools and we are the fifth and we
are called CNMT. Boyle heights is mostly compost by Mexican & Mexican American this community
also has a lot of culture. People that live here are very traditional and they
like to do big parties.
Why:
The reason why we decided to talk about dropouts is due to
the fact that we want students to overcome those statistics, that Hispanics are
the ones more likely to dropout in society. We also want teachers to encourage
teenagers NOT to dropout but us as student’s/teenagers encourage them as well.
This blog is meant to help teenagers that have doubts about dropping out, to
not dropout. Dropping out of school can determined to a minimum pay wages and
not a stable job, and not being able to pay your own bills. In reality a
diploma can make a difference and can help and for sure benefit in life.
Overall, we are the dropout free zone and are more likely to encourage
teenagers to maintain themselves in High School and walk stage and receiving a
Diploma!
BE COOL AND
STAY IN SCHOOL!
Do you
want descent car house clothes shoes accessories etc.?
WHO:
Anyone
that’s anyone is coming down to see our anti-stuff posters. I also would like
to tell you stuff about stuff. I’m also really happy about our stuff that I
would personally shake your hand at the door. Now that is a really great
opportunity to meet a very famous person who helped make this stuff. I don’t
like to brag but I did most of the work in my group and well it came out as
being the best in the class.
